How is trust established within the Huili community

At the beginning of each academic year, there is always a brief "trust crisis". Children suddenly leave their familiar homes and come to a new, noisy environment. Faced with new friends and a lot of new things to deal with, children sometimes feel uneasy and find it difficult to trust their new friends. This is normal, and teachers will change the pace and rhythm to gradually introduce new things and new friends to help children adapt.

At the same time, we have always emphasized an equal social relationship with children. Teachers will listen carefully, respect and support children's opinions and ideas, which greatly accelerates the establishment of trust between children and teachers. At Huili, teachers are more like trusted friends.

Leading by example is also very effective. When teachers and children encounter unfamiliar members of the Huilii community, teachers will take the initiative to greet and talk to them in a friendly manner. When they encounter problems, teachers are not "omnipotent", and they will also ask for help from different people. They set a good example by taking the first step in communication for the children. When children imitate teachers and share common life or learning experiences with unfamiliar members, trust quietly grows and sprouts.

Certainly, building a foundation of trust with children is a top priority, but establishing trust with families is also an important task for teachers. It's hard to imagine, but sometimes children's adaptability and resilience can be stronger than some adults. Many adults experience separation anxiety when their children first start Nursery. At this time, teachers will use various channels to establish trust with the adults and help them bravely face this challenge. Teachers will keep following up with and sharing the children's recent situation with parents, and timely organise parent workshops and morning coffee catch ups to provide parents with practical and effective advice and guidance.

We always insist on establishing an open, transparent, and trustworthy relationship with parents, so that they can understand the Nursery's educational philosophy, teaching methods, and educational achievements. At the same time, we also listen to parents' opinions and suggestions, constantly improving our educational work.

A good trust relationship is the foundation of everything.
