As the hot summer gradually fades away and the autumn breeze rises, the summer vacation has also come to an end. The plants that the children planted last academic year are now lush and looking forward to harvesting heavy fruits with the returning pupils.
The plants' expression is quiet, while the teachers' anticipation is lively and vivid. They have already decorated the garden with a new look. In the coming academic year, they look forward to writing their own growth story here with the children.
At the end of last academic year, we were happy for some of our friends as they embarked on a new journey in their lives. At the beginning of this semester, we also welcome new friends and feel grateful to have more members join the Hiba community. Here, we offer some small suggestions to our old and new friends, hoping to help all families adapt to the new academic year as soon as possible.
给老朋友家庭 For our old friends:
•Gradually organise your child's schedule and restore it to a relatively consistent rhythm with the school schedule
•Summarise the highlights of the holiday with your child and share them with each other.
•Talk to your child about their expectations for the new semester and think about what they can share with their classmates and teachers.
•Encourage your child to try to organise their school supplies according to their habits from last semester.
BACK TO NURSERY
给新朋友家庭 For our new friends:
•Support children to gradually establish a daily routine that is relatively consistent with the one in the Nursery.
•Establish a fixed time and habit for times when you often need to separate from your children. For example, before going to work, choose to say goodbye to your children in the same place.
•Share children’s personal interests and habits with the school, help teachers know children in advance, and integrate children's interests into the classroom settings.
•Share recent photos with teachers as much as possible, such as family photos and travelling photos.
•If a child has a soothing toy use it in role play. The beloved toy will go to school with him / her soon, and how we can support the toy.
•Through the combination of imaginative activities and picture books, we can guide the children to be prepared with more feelings to understand why and how to deal with temporary separation from close family members.
It is normal to feel a bit anxious about the unknown new semester and the upcoming separation. We encourage every family to face the separation positively and help children take the first step towards the new semester successfully. With a new starting point in the new semester, we look forward to reuniting with the children in the Nursery next week, working together to cultivate and harvest the fruits of success.
