First Academic Year Review

I enjoyed hearing the children playing in their playground through the window in my office. I also loved the fact they had lots of adventures in nature. 

In the past year, the children have brought me so many surprises! Every day in Nursery, I can visibly see their growth: they can eat independently, create a painting, read a book, make an invitation, design a logo, open a small restaurant, or even plan a museum! Their unlimited creativity and imagination have amazed me. Their growth is not just about accumulating knowledge, but also about understanding and exploring life. I am very proud of their progress and achievements!

Actually, there are too many memories in this year. If I have to choose one to share, I hope to share a journey of children "finding their own voice". When we started to share and create together with the children in the "Painting Club" of EY 3&4, they followed the picture books to explore the characters, scenes, and objects. In this process, they need to constantly practice how to add their own imagination and creativity on the basis of the picture books.

At first, when it came to the part where the children tried to create independently, some friends hesitated and whispered to me, "I have nothing in my mind and can't draw." I responded to my friends with acceptance and guidance, "Indeed, sometimes our brains just feel empty. It may need a little more time to think."

Gradually, the children became more confident and shared with me the difficulties they encountered without any burden. And I continued to accept, encourage, and offer suggestions.

The joyful moment has finally arrived! Let's feel the development of independent thinking and self-awareness in children's journey of "finding their own voice" from their words together:

• "I have nothing in my mind."

• "I think I have an idea in my mind, but I need to think about it some more."

• "My idea in my mind is a bit like Ms. Lucy's, except for one thing."

• "I have a great idea in my mind! I think my idea is also great!"

One of my highlights of the year has been the months of hard work by the Nursery children in our garden – all the digging, watering, and planting has paid off! After patiently waiting we have flowers and fruit and vegetables that we have grown by ourselves.

This year I spent a unique Children's Day in Nursery. Together with the children and other members of the Hiba community, we participated in a wonderful carnival! We put down our work and studies on a breezy summer day and felt the present moment of ourselves and each other.

One of my highlights is when Jennie first responded to a question of mine in English, showing full understanding. I’ll never forget the excited look on Ms. January’s face and the proud expression on Jennie’s!

The highlights for me were the Nursery's Children's Day Carnival and Chinese New Year Temple Fair. During these two exciting events, we spent an unforgettable time with the children, other members of the Hiba community, and ourselves.

In the past year, various activities organised in the Nursery have left me with wonderful memories. Watching the children grow day by day, I feel extremely proud and honored in my heart.

The Children’s Day carnival, the Sports Day, we all had a lot of fun both with children and parents. The Seed Village Museum, children are really engaged in and full of passion. They discuss and work very well with each other.

Watching the children explore the letters and their sounds was my year's highlight. I'm so proud of the children's hard work; our daily reading and writing moments will always stay with me.

I really enjoyed all the events such as Thanks Giving day activities and Children’s Day Carnival. It was really fun and interesting!

One of my highlights was the Children’s Day Carnival. It was such a fun event! I enjoyed witnessing the progress of the Seed Village project. It helped the children to become team players and independent.

In this academic year, I watched the children make significant progress in all areas through project-based learning. I feel very honored to witness their participation and growth!
