In May, our Nursery pupils invited their female members of the family to celebrate Mother's Day in nature through various unique ways. Today, in preparation for Father’s Day on Sunday, we also invited the male members of the family to feel the summer atmosphere in the lush and vibrant nature.
Compared to May, June has undergone some unique changes in nature! The summer atmosphere is becoming stronger, with the sounds of birds and insects, fresh flowers and green grass, and the dense tree canopy shimmering with green light in the sunshine. The sun has lost its gentleness of spring and is hotter, showing off its vitality.
In this vibrant early summer, we joined hands with Dads, Uncles and Grandads to step into nature , enjoying delicious food and playing games together.
With the experience from the previous activity, the children are now very skilled and safe in using tools! Like little masters, they volunteered to cut open watermelons and share the sweetness with their adults, offering a refreshing treat.
Today's game session was full of power and vitality! In addition to the very popular game of "rock, paper, scissors," the children also tried three new games with the adults:
A traditional Scottish game: Two people sitting on the ground with their feet touching, holding onto a stick, and pushing back until one is lifted off the ground. The children not only enjoyed playing the game themselves, but also challenged the adults! Although their bodies and strength are not yet comparable to adults, they fully utilized the power of teamwork – by working together, they can also achieve victory!
Bucket Relay: A tense and exciting relay race takes place in the outdoor! Adults and children are divided into two teams and compete in a unique relay race through teamwork. Carrying water buckets and maintaining balance, the children use their entire bodies to excellently complete each leg of the relay race! During the relay race, the children also constantly try to change their postures and explore more suitable ways to carry the water. The big friends on the side applaud and cheer for the children's efforts!
"Don't Let the Sticks Fall": Everyone holds a stick and forms a circle. When the countdown ends, they release their sticks and try to grab the stick of the person in front of them. If they fail to grab it, they are out. Although it was a bit challenging at first, as the game progressed, the children gradually mastered the trick: they observed the position of the stick they were about to grab, coordinated their hands and eyes, and even added difficulty by standing farther away! The defeated children did not feel discouraged at all. They cheered on their partners around them, and the lively atmosphere infected everyone present! The adults present also joined in and experienced the joy of childhood chasing!

In the eyes of children, adults often carry labels such as "maturity," "steadiness," and "dignity," However, adults also grow up from their youth, and they are not born great and heavy. Their hearts are also as hot and full of dreams and aspirations as early summer. The adventurous spirit and exploratory spirit they display in nature also help release children's nature, stimulate their desire for exploration, and awaken more possibilities for children. On this Father's Day, children become partners and friends with their family memberss, feeling the vitality of life together in nature.
