Do you remember the last time the children made various efforts to help the villagers in Seed Village solve their problems? Recently, our EY3&4 class reached out for specialist support within our school and found Ms. Nade, the Junior High Social Studies teacher, who was happy to help.Time waits for no one, so the children quickly decided to visit Ms. Nade!

With Ms. Nade's guidance, the children were able to establish the topography of the Seed Village and learn the reasons behind the formation of the soil. Based on a topographic map of China and the information shared by Ms. Nade, the children deduced the location of the Seed Village in the western part of Gansu Province near the desert. Ms. Nade also shared with the children about the changes in Gansu, where people have improved the soil and introduced more advanced agricultural technology, making Gansu a prominent farming province.

At the same time, the children showed great concern when they learned that the village no longer existed. As our children acted as detectives in the seed village, they witnessed its extraordinary story. They decided to share this with people who did not know about it. And so, the idea of creating a museum about the story of the seed village was born.

How should we prepare for this museum? The children were engaged in a lively discussion. They shared their experiences based on the museums they have visited before, such as the Science Museum and the Astronomy Museum.

  • What can we exhibit?

  • How should the exhibits be displayed?

  • What should the labels and descriptions look like?

  • What kind of signage is needed?

A new learning and exploration journey begins.
